ASIFA Drawing Backlog, Part 9

More from Summer sessions, and more from that brown sketchbook I use on off nights and when I'm between sketchbooks. I beat the cold so I'll be back at it tomorrow night, probably with real paper.

Also, now that I'm subjecting my Facebook friends to this I should warn you to skip these life drawing posts if you're one of those strange people who is somehow offended by boobs. I feel confident however, that most of you are staunch boob supporters. Insert your own joke here.

Reliving My Childhood

My new roommate has the re-release of Turtles in Time for his Xbox, as well as the 1989 arcade game so last night we sat down, drank beer and beat both of them. Good times.

So this morning I woke up with two things; a raging headache and an urge to draw some Turtles. I hadn't done any non comic stuff in awhile so its nice to have the break.

ASIFA Drawing Backlog, Part 8

September was a crazy crazy month and this got a little behind. Or a lot behind. Those words may or may not mean the same thing.

Drawing sessions restarted last Tuesday and I missed (I have a cold) but I figured now is prooooobably when I want to actually scan all that old work. This is the first wave, and I'll post the next few over the weekend so we can have this all nice and ready for the new sessions this coming Tuesday.

Tsaigen, The Pete Best of Issue 1

I've been doing random drawings of the characters for the inside cover, and I decided to do the only main character who isn't in the first issue as well. I just feel like a tool putting him in the final, because I want this first issue to also stand on its own, so I'm just gonna post it here.

This September has been and will continue to be the craziest month of, well, definitely this year and in the running for craziest ever.

Excerpts

So I'm scanning, editing, laying tone and laying out all the work from the comic now. Tedious and time consuming, the little bit I have managed to draw this week certainly shouldn't be seen in public.

Instead, heres a couple excerpts from my pet project; Brian's favorite panel of Karda entering the concert, and a shot of the Chojun rising to show some of the tone I've been putting in the underwater scenes. The tone scenes are coming out a bit better than I had expected and are now overpowering the black and white stuff, so I may have to end up toning a lot of it (but probably not the concert shot).

PSA

Hello everyone, I'm Ash Posey and I'm here to tell you about a disease I suffer from. Its called "Never leaving enough room at the bottom of the page for anyone's fucking feet." Every year, untold artists suffer in silence. However, my doctors fear my case may be terminal.

There's probably nothing you can do, but maybe if you're feeling motivated you can sponsor a 5K event or something.
